What did you eat?
- Hirame no sashimi (flounder)
- Maitake no tenpura (Maitake tempura)
- Kaki no tenpura (Oyster tempura)
How was it?
1. Hirame no sashimi (flounder)
I don’t think I’ve ever tried flounder before.
This is good! I like how it’s chewy yet fresh. It has a smooth texture, not sticky at all—that’s really nice. I really enjoyed this one, especially with the wasabi.
After experiencing this, there’s no way we can go back to American sushi!
2. Maitake no tenpura (Maitake tempura)
Oh, I really like this one! I think it’s my favorite so far. It has such a unique mushroom flavor—so good! The aftertaste is amazing too.
3. Kaki no tenpura (Oyster tempura)
I definitely prefer oysters like this over the raw ones straight from the shell. This is really good! I’ve never had an oyster prepared this way before. Usually, it’s just slurp it down, but with tempura, you really get to experience the texture—smooth in some parts and chewy in others. It really lets you appreciate the flavor of the oyster so much more.
